Hike to a popular waterfall in the Olympic National Park
The Marymere Falls trail is a moderate hike on the northern side of the Olympic National Park in Washington State. It's just off Highway 101 near the historic Lake Crescent Lodge, a 30 minute drive from Port Angeles.
This 1.5 mile roundtrip to Marymere Falls takes about 90 minutes to complete. The hike starts at the Storm King Ranger Station, a 10 minute walk east of the Lake Crescent Lodge, on the southeastern edge of Lake Crescent.
The first half mile of the trail passes through old growth forest, before crossing two pedestrian bridges, then ascending 200 feet up the hillside to a viewpoint that overlooks the 90-foot Marymere Falls.

1. Start at the Storm King Ranger Station.
Take the exit off Highway 101 to the Storm King Ranger Station and follow signs to the parking area. An entrance fee is required to visit the Olympic National Park.
2. Stroll for a half-mile through flat, lowland forest.
3. See deer and fawn along the way.
4. Admire the lush groves of abundant swordfern.
5. Wander deeper into the moss laden forest.
6. Cross the bridge over Barnes Creek.
7. Then cross the second bridge over Falls Creek.
8. Climb the stairs on the other side of the bridge, and ascend 200 feet up the hill.
9. Continue along the viewing platform that overlooks Marymere Falls.
