Start at the dramatic entrance to the Hollywood Highland Center on Hollywood Boulevard.

Climb to the top of the stairs to the Babylon Courtyard, with a refreshing spray pad and shaded tables for relaxing. 

Shop at Sephora, Lucky Brand Jeans, Aldo, Guess, and Sketchers, or enjoy a meal at the California Pizza Kitchen, Hard Rock Cafe, Johnny Rockets (burgers), or Lucky Strike (gastropub), or indulge at the 25,000 square foot Sweet Hollywood candy store with novelty rooms full of treats.

Don't forget to look up at the towering archway with Egyptian motifs, flanked by two columns with elephants on top.  The Egyptian-themed design is influenced by a movie set from the 1915 silent movie Intolerance.

A second set of stairs leads to an overlook with views of the Hollywood Sign, and a sculpture of a yellow chaise lounge for tourists to sit on.  As you climb the stairs, pause to review the inspirational quotes on the ground from the Road to Hollywood art installation by Erica Rothenberg (2002).
