Tumwater Vineyard has a beautiful setting, on an idyllic hillside known as Pete's Mountain, just 20 minutes south of Portland in West Linn.
It opened in July 2017, and now has 23 acres of vines, including 20 acres of pinot noir, and 3 acres of chardonnay.
Tumwater Vineyard was originally part of a larger 63-acre parcel that was intended as a housing sub-division. However, when this proposal was rejected, a compromise was reached by constructing only 5 luxury houses to preserve more open space. These 5 stunning houses were open for the public to tour during the 2016 Street of Dreams, with the barn acting as the sales showroom.
The barn later became the tasting room for Tumwater Vineyards when it opened in 2017. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and overlooks a trout pond with gorgeous views of the surrounding vines and Mt Hood.
