Carillon Point has a spectacular location on Lake Washington, near Kirkland on Seattle’s Eastside.
This former shipyard is now home to water-view restaurants, a luxury hotel, beautiful park, and public marina with boat rentals.
The views across Lake Washington are incredible, and include the Olympic Mountains and Seattle’s skyline.
The restaurants, shops and hotel at Carillon Point are accessed from a central plaza, with a sweeping staircase that leads to the waterfront path and marina. Don’t forget to check out the six bell towers at the plaza, that chime hourly.
History: Carillon Point was a major shipbuilding yard from 1901 to 1945. During WWII, an incredible 29 warships were constructed here, and another 500 ships repaired. At one point the workforce swelled to 8,000 people, working three round the clock shifts. Production slowed significantly after WWII. The 31-acre property was then used by the Seahawks from 1976 to 1985, before being re-developed as a hotel and restaurant complex.

Carillon Point is home to 3 restaurants with gorgeous water views, stylish interiors, and patios for outdoor dining. Como Restaurant serves Italian food inspired by the Lombardi region, and El Encanto specializes in delicious tacos and tequila. Le Grand serves more traditional fare, with American style cuisine with a French twist.

3. Woodmark Hotel
The luxury Woodmark Hotel at Carillon Point, boasts waterview rooms and sleek interiors. There are complimentary bikes and kayaks, a snack room, and roaring fire-pits out on the front lawns. Book here.

4. Woodmark Waterfront Adventures
Head to the rental hut at the bottom of the plaza stairs at Carillon Point, for Woodmark Waterfront Adventures. Between May to September, you can rent passenger boats, jet-skis, paddleboards and kayaks.
This is the kiosk where you can book rentals.

5. Carillon Point Beach Park
Carillon Point Beach Park, can be accessed by taking the walkway off Washington Boulevard NE. This beautiful waterfront park has sculptures, manicured gardens, a narrow slither of rocky beach, benches and a public pathway.
This is the entrance to the public pathway, accessed off Washington Boulevard NE.
Follow the concrete pathway down to the waterfront.
The narrow path then opens to a wide expanse of lawn at the waterfront.
This is “The Family” sculpture by Michael Dennis.
Relax on this waterfront installation known as "Verona" by Stephen Marks, with a big and little chair.
The public pathway continues past the Woodmark Hotel's front lawn, where you can see firepits surrounded by adirondack chairs.
The hotel rooms have gorgeous views.
The front lawn is also popular for weddings, where guests can look out over Lake Washington.
Continue past the stairs that lead up to the plaza, with the hotel and restaurants.
The public pathway ends at the marina at Carillon Point.
